Alongside his professional career as a trumpet player, Paul has been teaching throughout his professional life. He was a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama for thirty years and continues teaching as a consultant and clinician to all brass players, giving individual lessons, group sessions and lectures around the country.
Many of his students now hold positions in some of our finest orchestras.
He uses a studio in London and is also available for Zoom or Skype lessons online.
James Fountain, Principal Trumpet, The London Philharmonic Orchestra
Paul Cosh was a great influence at the Guildhall. I owe him so much: He is a fantastic teacher and such a great mentor. He has the answer for any problem and was so supportive when I switched from cornet to trumpet. He is the best teacher I’ve ever worked with.
Steve Stewart, Soprano cornet with the Cory Band
Paul is only person I’d go to with technical or performance issues. He is a great teacher.
Kate Moore, Principal Trumpet, BBC Concert Orchestra
Paul is a terrific teacher. He has the ability to see the individual’s needs, musically, physically and most importantly mentally. Good straightforward advice from Paul has saved my career on many occasions….no gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors, just fantastic teaching.
Paul Denegri, former head of Brass at Wells Cathedral School
Paul’s teaching is clear and thoughtful, based on an outstanding knowledge of the technical challenges of the trumpet and giving precise advice and objectives to work towards.
